Food Tour FAQ's

What is a food tour?

A food tour is a group of people, joined by a tour guide, that walk around a neighborhood and sample foods from different restaurants. During the tour, the guide will speak about the city’s history and the local community. Our tour will specifically address the Middle Eastern community, countries, history, traditions, and foods.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 48 hour cancellation policy for food tours. If you don't contact us 48 hours in advance, you will not receive a refund. Please be aware that the Public Food Tour of Little Arabia requires 4 people minimum. We will contact you to refund or reschedule your class/tour if the minimum is not met. If Mid East Eats has to cancel for any reason, you will receive a full refund. Please check out our Terms and Conditions.

May I reschedule my food tour?

You may reschedule your food tour within 48 hours of the start date and time. After 48 hours, you cannot reschedule and will not receive a refund since food is pre-ordered and we have paid our vendors.

What if I am late?

It is a good idea to arrive at the first location 15 minutes prior to the tour start time. In fairness to the people who arrive on time, we leave at the exact tour start time. If you are late, you may meet the tour at the next location given on your itinerary. If you cannot find the group, there are no reschedules or refunds.

How much food is served on the tours?

Over the course of the tour, you will enjoy tons of delicious food and drink tastings. There will be enough samples of food to form an entire lunch.

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Please be sure to let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction when you purchase your tickets. There will be a space to provide this information when booking the tour. We will accommodate to the best of our abilities. Please note that there will be nuts on this food tour. If you are allergic to any foods, we recommend you avoid our food tour or bring an Epi-Pen. By booking a tour, you are participating in the tour AT YOUR OWN RISK! We are not responsible for any injury on our tours. Please refer to our Waiver and Release Claims.

How much walking will there be on the tour?

We will be on and off our feet for around 4 hours. We will walk at a casual pace and stand in place for a few minutes here and there. There will be plenty of seating once we arrive at the food locations, where we will stay for 15-20 minutes. There isn't much of an incline during our walks.

How many people can go on a tour?

The maximum number of people on a tour is 20.

Are bathrooms available?

Yes! Bathrooms are available at most of the locations we will visit.

What is the parking situation like?

There will be plenty of parking in the shopping center of the first location.

Can I shop during the tour?

YES! We will specifically visit a grocery store and a fashion boutique for that reason. If you loved a food or beverage so much during the tasting that you want to purchase it for yourself, you may buy it at the grocery store! You may also purchase pre-made food at the restaurants. However, if you want to purchase food that needs to be pre-ordered, we kindly ask that you wait until after the tour to buy it.

Is the tour stroller or wheelchair friendly?

Yes it is!

What if the weather is bad?

All our tours are held rain or shine. Please look into the weather forecast and dress appropriately. Tickets cannot be cancelled due to the weather. Before purchasing tickets, please be aware of the possible weather conditions for that time of year.

What should I wear?

Please dress appropriately for the time of year. Southern California weather is mostly comfortable year-round and rarely rains. Most importantly, WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES! We will be walking on this food tour.

Should I take the tour if I live locally?

Absolutely YES! This tour will open your eyes to the many restaurants and shops around that you may not have noticed before. This tour is also a great educational tour! You will learn so much about the neighborhood and Middle Eastern cuisine.

Is the tour child friendly?

In most instances, yes! Children under 5 are free and you may bring a stroller. Ages 5-12 are $45. If your child is a picky eater, they may not enjoy the tour as much. Also, if your child is a bit fussy, it may cause some distractions as the tour guide will be speaking during the tour. In this instance, it may be best to book a private food tour with your family. The tour is quite long and some children may not be able to withstand the length. If you have an older child, they may enjoy the educational aspect of the tour more than the food. Please gauge your child's personality and plan accordingly.

Are pets allowed on the tour?

Pets are not allowed on any of our food tasting tours as the law prohibits pets from entering an establishment that serves food or drink.

Where does the tour end?

The tour ends at the designated location on your itinerary, not a far walk from the first location.

Are gratuities included?

Tour guide gratuities are not included in the cost of your tour. If you had an amazing experience, we recommend giving your guide between 15% – 20% of the purchase price of the tour. Tips are optional.

Are gift cards available?

They are! Gift cards can be purchased here!

Can I book a private group tour?

Yes! Please check out our private group tours here.
